Tonight's hotel is extremely plush. I think this room might count as a suite. It took me while to work out how the Internet connection worked. In fact, I had to ask the receptionist. I also had to ask to put my bike in the hotel's garage as I think I left part of the lock in Osijek. Without it, I can still lock the bike to a railing if I can get it close enough but I can't also lock both wheels like I have been doing and I can't lock it to something big like a tree.

I think that's the least of my worries at the moment though. Although the receptionist didn't think I would have a problem leaving Serbia, she was surprised to find a passport without an entry stamp. I'm quite concerned about it now. I could carry on to Belgrade tomorrow, where I have booked what sounds like a wonderful hotel, although if I want to get any kind of consular help there, I will have to wait until Monday. Alternatively, I could go back to where I entered Serbia and see if anybody there remembers me and is willing to let me out again. If they do, I won't be coming back. On the other hand, I could carry on. It might be as easy to try to get out into Bulgaria next week as to try to get back to Croatia. I'm going to keep all my hotel receipts while I'm in Serbia, including my last one from Croatia. Together with my receipt for changing a bit of money at the border and my two timestamped photographs of the Danube, I'm hoping they will form enough evidence of how I came to be here.
