 Each village along this road gives its height. Every time I see one, I'm surprised how high I still am. The poor, twisty section of road brought me down to about 1300 m. Since then, the road has been rather smooth, straight and fast. I've been hurtling down it for miles now and am somehow still higher than anywhere in England.
