Really? A bike shop not being open? Who would have thought it? Actually, the place doesn't usually open on Sundays and another sign on the door says that it normally opens at 2 o'clock, which I'm pretty sure wasn't what it said on the website, so this sign could have been there since yesterday, in which case I'm glad I didn't bother rushing over here after getting to the hotel. Maybe it's been there for months. I'm not going to stay around here until 2 o'clock today to find out though. Yes, that's right. This shop now says that it opens at the same time of day as the one in Terre Haute closes. Finding one when it's open really is a matter of complete luck.

You might have thought that with this apparently being the only bike shop for 400 miles, they might have made some kind of effort to - I don't know - at least put the same opening hours on the website as on the door. Anyway, forget it. I'll just have to hope my tyre can hold out as far as Pueblo.

I also noticed that the part of the door in front of the notice about opening hours was smashed, as if somebody had given it a good kicking. It needs one.
